Coaster for a special little girl

I made this little coaster for my friend Karen's daughter, Caitlyn. To have on her bedside table to hold her bottle of water, in case she is thirsty during sleep time. It is adapted from a Cathy Bayne's pattern that was featured in Homespun a couple of issues back. You can see Cath's other great stuff over here. http://willowvalleystore.typepad.com/

Dear Jane - G4 - Shutter Bug

Went to the monthly Dear Jane class on Saturday http://foothillsfabricandthreads.typepad.com and came home with a completed G4 block (aka Shutter Bug). This one was machine foundation pieced and very enjoyable. I feel quite confident now with my newly learned foundation piecing knowledge. I love how foundation piecing is so precise. This block is turning out to be one of my favourites.

Amish Thangles Quilt - Finished!

For the past couple of years I have been taking part in the Thangles program run by Karen at Mrs Martin's Quilt Shop in Monbulk http://www.mrsmartinsquiltshop.typepad.com/ and last year I chose to do the "Amish" theme. Bold coloured blocks contrast with black and then I chose purple to complete the top. All over quilting by Chris Calherios. Quite happy with the finished result and so was my 10 year old son as he has asked if he can have the quilt for his bed!!

Dear Jane - G8 - Justin's Comet - Machine Pieced

Went to my Dear Jane class yesterday, was a bit of a struggle after a late night previously followed by an early morning - but this is the result. I learnt to do Y seams - not as scary as first thought! Very happy with the end result. Just needs a proper pressing.
